This post breaks down an all inclusive cleaning schedule into daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
Cleaning your apartment sounds like a simple task, but it’s so easy to find any reason to put it off. If I don’t have a strict cleaning schedule then I won’t clean what I’m supposed to. So I made a in depth cleaning schedule that is simple but effective in keeping my home clean!
Breaking down your cleaning routine is so helpful to stay on top of your chores!
An apartment is so much smaller than a house, yet I still constantly feel like cleaning my apartment is such a daunting task. So, I came up with a monthly cleaning schedule that will keep me on track for cleaning my apartment.
I needed something that I could break down into days, weeks, and months. This way, cleaning feels so much easier and not as overwhelming trying to do everything at once.
My Simple Broken Down Cleaning Schedule:
Daily:
These are quick tasks that only should take a few minutes out of your day. If you stick to doing these everyday it will make your weekly chores easier and keep your space clean all week!
- Make bed
- Organize couch pillows
- Fold blankets
- Wipe kitchen counters
- Wash pots/pans left on the counter
- Run dishwasher
- Take out the garbage
- Pick up floors & counter
Weekly:
I like to split my weekly cleaning chores between two days, usually Wednesdays and Sundays. This way I can power down and get everything done in only two days, making it so much quicker! But if you don’t have time to clean twice a week, you can still get it all done in one day if you are efficient!
- Do laundry
- Wash bedsheets
- Wash towels & blankets
- Vacuum floors
- Make a note for garbage day and take your garbage’s out on this day
- Clean toilets & shower tub
- Widex mirrors & windows
- Clean out fridge & wipe down
- Deep clean kitchen appliances (air fryer, toaster, etc.)
- Water plants
Monthly:
Monthly chores will keep your apartment not only clean but fresh, smelling good, and organized!
- deodorize carpets
- Clean vents
- Wipe down baseboards
- Clean garbage disposal
- Dust cabinets & ledges
- Dust ceiling fan
- Organize closets & shoe racks (rotate with the season)
My all time favorite vacuum is this Shark Cordless Stick Vacuum, which you can buy on Amazon by clicking here! It vaccums up everything on my floors and has a 40 minute runtime, which feels like it forever. It is one of the most affordable, best working cordless vacuums available!
The most important step in this schedule is following the monthly chores. They take a little bit more time to complete but they will make your apartment so much cleaner and smell amazing!
